MARQUETTE — UP Health System — Marquette is pleased to welcome Melinda Dehority, PA-C, to the urogynecology team. She will assist Dr. Gina Sternschuss.
“I came to the UP because my husband received a job in the area, however, we have grown to love it up here and are excited for all the opportunities it holds in store for us,” Melinda said.
Melinda, known as Mindy, earned her BA in Chemistry with a pre-medical concentration from Notre Dame of Maryland University. She recently graduated from the Lock Haven University Physician Assistant Program with a Master’s of Health Science degree, and is nationally certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
“As a provider, I am here to help the patients live the best and most fulfilling lives possible,” Melinda said.
Melinda has six weeks of clinical rotation experience in each of the following disciplines: family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, pediatrics, general surgery and orthopedic surgery.
Melinda will help Dr. Sternschuss in the urogynecology department. At UPHS — Marquette, the department specializes in the care of women with pelvic floor disorders. The pelvic floor is the muscles, ligaments, connective tissue and nerves that help support and control the rectum, uterus, vagina and bladder. The UPHS — Marquette team is committed to improving your lifestyle with an individualized treatment plan and can see patients for the following conditions or procedures: pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, bowel incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine leimyoma or fibroids, abnormal bleeding and sexual dysfunction.
For hobbies, Melinda enjoys hiking and exploring new areas.
